Building a Leadership Team Around Reading

“Reading is essential for those who seek to rise above the ordinary.” – Jim Rohn

Recently, as a leadership team at MedMan we made the decision to read together. Each month we choose a book to read or listen to and then hold each other accountable to complete the reading by the time we’re ready for the next one. Basically, a little MedMan book club. There are several outcomes that we are hoping for from this:

  • That we as a leadership team consume a higher variety and quantity of worthwhile information than we normally would by ourselves

  • That it sparks a greater amount of creativity, idea creation and debate about our business

  • That we gain knowledge and wisdom, hopefully leading to a better decision-making body

  • That we build comradery amongst us as a leadership team in our shared experience and ever-growing vocabulary

Whatever your motivation, reading can be incredibly powerful. In this instance, we simply hope to harness that power as part of developing our team here at MedMan.

“Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.” – Margaret Fuller
