Evolution of Performance Management

Could annual performance evaluations be going away? Maybe not completely, but the trend going forward is a modified process. A process that sets annual or semiannual goals, but a system is in place to provide real-time feedback and coaching. This evolution of performance management is being driven by the younger generations entering the workforce. These generations are accustomed to instant gratification as a result of growing up with technology and social media.
As we look back on 2016 and look ahead to 2017, managing people will continue to be one of the greatest consumptions of time for leaders. A new generation is entering the workforce, Generation Z. I know, Gen X, Gen Y, Millennials, Baby Boomers, it’s difficult to keep all of these phrases straight and which subset of people they are describing. With these various generations, each one has a different outlook on jobs, careers, benefits, work/life balance and even how they receive feedback. It’s difficult to know just how to effectively manage the competing expectations. MedMan’s speakers bureau has trainings focused on leading multiple generations in medical practices and coaching on how to flex your communication style when delivering feedback. We’re here to help create successful, cohesive teams.
