A President in Need of Advice
That would be me. Forever working on my listening skills, and being paranoid about growing detached from those in the field, I want reliable and actionable input from those I trust.
So years ago we created an employee advisory committee while at a MedMan University we were holding in Phoenix. We named it the Phoenix Council. This committee is comprised of employees elected by their peers. I name the chair, who then sits on the MedMan board of directors assuring us of input from the trenches.
Interestingly the Phoenix Council has actually simplified my life. They filter ideas and concerns, process them and turn them into recommendations. And…to their credit I usually do what they suggest.
